Mississippi State was down to its final strike in whatās been a whirlwind of a 2018 season against No. 1 seed Florida State in Tallahassee. Right fielder Elijah MacNamee had other plans.
On a 1-2 count with runners on first and second and two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, trailing 2-0, MacNamee was sitting on an off-speed pitch that he could put in play to keep the Bulldogsā season alive.
Instead, he planted one deep over the left field wall to keep MSUās season alive as with a 3-2 win as it advanced in elimination bracket in the Tallahassee region.
